What is Open AI?
OpenAI is a non-profit organization base on developing artificial intelligence tech. Their mission is to ensure that artificial general intelligence benefits all of humanity. They have a great investor list including Microsoft.
What is “Token” or “Credit” in OpenAI?
OpenAI has a lot of models for creating context. For example:
- Image models are for generating and editing novel images and art in different resolutions. Every solution has a different price. 1 image (1024×1024) = $0.020, currently.
- Language models are for generating text. As same as the image model, they have different capabilities. “Ada” is the fastest model, while “Davinci” is the best and most powerful model. So we will use it in our template.
In language models, we accept every word of generated content as a token. Prices are per 1,000 tokens. You can think of tokens as pieces of words, where 1,000 tokens are about 750 words. This paragraph is 35 tokens. More clearly, they give this calculation method:
- 1 token ~= 4 chars in English
- 1 token ~= ¾ words
- 100 tokens ~= 75 words
OpenAI is still in beta. So they want to test every user experience, usage type, and usage statistic. So they give $18 free credit (coins) valid for the first three months to use their API. It’s a good chance to understand how to work with AI and AI tools. You can also develop your AI tool using OpenAI API.

Get Your OpenAI API Key For Free
1- Create a free OpenAPI account at https://beta.openai.com/signup
2- Once you’re logged in, click the account menu in the top right, and then “View API keys” (or just navigate to https://beta.openai.com/account/api-keys directly)
3- Click “Create a new secret key“
4- Your API key will appear in a modal. Copy it and keep it safe, you’ll need it in a moment!
Create A Copy Of the GPT-3 Google Sheets Template

2- File>Make a copy>Rename the file that you want and choose a folder to copy.
Paste Your OpenAI API Credential To Config Sheet
Finally, open your GPT-3 SEO Article Helper file on your Drive. You will see two sheets.
The first one is our workplace to generate content.
The second one is a config sheet for keeping OpenAI API key and managing configs about OpenAI. Don’t forget to remove “api_key” (B2) cell before sharing someone because your credits are limited to $18 and If you reach this credit, you need to buy more.
You need to paste your API key that copy from OpenAI profile to “B2” cell. That’s all. We can start to generate content 🎉.
Starting To Generate Content
You want to write a blog post/article. You have a target keyword for use in your blog post but you don’t clear what you need to write. Just paste your keyword to “A6” cell in your “Generate Content” sheet, and GPT-3 will generate an SEO-friendly meta title for your blog post. Also, It will generate a meta description for use on your SEO plugin (like RankMath, Yoast SEO, AIO SEO). Last but not least, It will generate a blog outline for the most important parts of your blog post.

I want to write a blog post about “solutions of iPhone 12 does not work problem”. I researched and find the best high-volume keyword is: “iphone 12 does not work solved”. So I will write to “A6” cell. If everything is OK, you will see the meta title in “B6” cell, the meta description in “C6” cell, and blog outlines in “D6” cell. Also, you can check your meta title and meta description length in “E6” and “F6” cells.

Generating Content In Different Languages
You can also generate a meta title, meta description, and meta outline in different languages.
Just click any formula in “B, C, or D” cells, and you will see this:
=generateMetaTitle(A6).
Add your language that wants to generate content in the second parameter of your formula like this:
=generateMetaTitle(A6, “German”) or =generateMetaDescription(A6, “Turkish”)
It will generate content in the German language. But don’t forget to give a German keyword in “A” column.
